Walking circuit - Lajus

From the center of Raon l'Etape, head towards Celles sur Plaine. The starting point is at the site known as Lajus, near the Brasserie des Lacs. Follow the red ring markings throughout the course. Leaving the Lajus parking lot, climb to the rock of the Pilier by crossing two forest roads, then continue to the left to pass in front of the Roches Rondes and cross the forest road of the Bannes. Continue towards the Schaché rock and the Virgin of Haut-Port. After the statue of the virgin, descend towards the starting point by taking the path that crosses two forest roads. The path is marked in both directions.
Things to see along the way: the rock of the Pilier (alt. 512 meters, enter the crack of the rock and admire a superb pillar cleared by erosion in a layer containing many pebbles), the round rocks, the rock of the Grande Basse, Schaché rock, Virgin of Haut-Port (alt. 605 meters, located on the ridge at the border of the municipalities of Raon l'Etape and Celles sur Plaine at the former border of the Principality of Salm-Salm in the 18th century), the boundary stone of the Pays de Salm, a view of the Vieux-Pré dam.
