Cycling Circuit No. 3 - Xonrupt-Longemer

Ideal hilly loop to discover the Valley of Lakes and the iconic panoramas of the High Vosges. With a length of 36 km and a positive elevation gain of 630 m, it combines sustained climbs, scenic roads, and technical descents.

Starting from the camping site at Domaine de Longemer, ascend the Schlucht pass. Take a break at the Roche du Diable to admire the view over the lakes of Longemer and Retournemer. Just before the pass, turn right to take the Route des Crêtes.

At the foot of Hohneck, we recommend climbing to the summit at 1363 m to enjoy a 360° panorama over the Alsace plain and the Vosges peaks.

Turn back and continue along the Route des Crêtes, before carefully descending to the right, on the Route des Américains, until you reach the descent of Bramont.

Once in the valley, turn right onto the return road and ascend the Vologne valley. Pass the Feignes pass, then descend toward Xonrupt-Longemer. Join your starting point by the shores of Lake Longemer.

Good tip: to recharge your energy, stop at one of the many farm inns along the Route des Crêtes. Bring a windbreaker, as weather conditions can be harsh on the Route des Crêtes.
