Hiking - quarry trail

Access: From Remiremont, head to Saint-Amé. At the center of the village (opposite the church), turn left, pass in front of the town hall and go to the stadium.
Parking: Park in the stadium parking lot.

Distance: 10 km / Duration: 3 h / Elevation gain: 350m / Marking: red ring.

Take the path that runs along the parking lot towards the stadium. At the level of the parking spaces for the disabled, turn left. The first red ring marking is there, you begin to circle the former pond of Miroir au Merle. At the end of the pond, cross the bridge to the left and take the path that goes up into the forest directly in front. Follow the marking that varies between a path and a small road until you reach a relay antenna.
Pass in front of the relay antenna to join the marked path opposite. A little further on, leave the path for a dirt road until the next junction with the road.
At this junction with the road, there is the possibility of going back and forth to the left for the viewpoint of Monroche (climbing site). On site: picnic table. To continue the walk: take the marked path that goes up to the right. Passing in front of a small quarry and a viewpoint. Continue on the path that goes right for about 1 km until you reach the large quarry, take the time to admire the view. On site: covered picnic table. To leave, continue straight on the path.
At the next large junction with a path, turn left downhill. Then, a little lower at the fork, continue along the road that descends to the right, still following the red ring marking.
At the junction at the bottom of the road, take the right path that quickly becomes a dirt road. 100m further, turn left onto a smaller path that goes down into the forest. Be careful, the path is rocky!
In front of a small quarry lower down, leave the path for a nice mossy trail in the forest on the left.
At the intersection of paths after the descent, facing a fence, turn right then right again 50m further to follow along a dried-up pond. At the exit of the path, again at an intersection in front of a quarry, turn left. Arriving at the active quarry, continue straight along it. Stay on the road to the right: be careful if you walk during the week, the quarry is always in operation, there is a lot of traffic, especially trucks serving the quarry which is still active.
Continue for about 300m on the road before leaving it for a path that goes to the left into the forest. The path quickly becomes a trail on the right. Continue to follow the marking along the houses. Alternating between path, road, and trail that allows you to join, alongside the housing estates, the stadium parking lot.
