Family walk - Grand Roche circuit

Circuit of the Grand Roche (Municipality of Le Ménil). Duration: about 2 hours 30 minutes. Difficulty: medium (family walk with children). Distance: 6 kilometers. Positive elevation: 203 meters. Marking: blue signposts, short unmarked section on paved road, yellow disc, blue cross, yellow signpost, blue disc, unmarked end of the path. Tourist points of interest: the Grand Roche (bench and viewpoint), Cascade du Heuchau. Departure: parking lot of the multipurpose room "La Familiale". Access: from Le Thillot, follow the D486 towards Le Ménil. In Le Ménil, turn right after the church, at the level of the restaurant Les Sapins. The "La Familiale" room is located 200 meters further on the right. Description of the route: From the parking lot, take the paved road straight ahead. Leave the "La Familiale" room behind you. Do not take "rue des Chèvres". Continue straight for 50 meters. At the crossroads, go straight following the blue signposts and red cross. Continue for 300 meters. Arrive at the sign "Le Pont Charreau" (537m altitude). The bridge is located on the right and spans the stream of Ménil. Continue on this road for 200m following the blue signposts towards "Chapelle de Pitié". At the 2nd intersection, take the left onto "rue des Charrières". Continue straight for about 500 meters. Do not go to "chemin des Haies". Take the left onto "rue de la Chaume". Walk 400 meters to reach the departmental road. Cross the D486 to take the road in front. Caution, there is no pedestrian crossing! Continue straight and follow the yellow disc signposts. Do not take "rue de la Golette". Go straight on the road that climbs marked by yellow disk towards "chemin des Huttes". Continue on this road for 700 meters marked by the yellow disc. The Chapelle de Pitié can be seen on the opposite slope. Arrive at the Golette chalet (closed chalet). Go down a little on the road and take the path that climbs in front of you marked by a blue cross towards "Le Ménil". Continue on this path for 600 meters. At the intersection, take the left path marked by the yellow signpost. Continue straight for 800 meters always following the yellow signpost. Arriving at a crossing, follow straight the path marked by the yellow signpost to reach "la Grande Roche". Caution, the path crosses a steep slope. Nice view of the village of Ménil and the Ballon de Servance from the Grande Roche equipped with a bench. Return to your steps until the intersection and take the path on the right marked by a blue disc. Continue on this path for about 1 kilometer. It passes near a small cave then a viewpoint with a bench. Follow the blue disc to the road that runs alongside the campsite and its mini-golf course. Continue on this road which descends for 200 meters. At the intersection, take the left road that climbs for about 500 meters. Go straight following the direction "cascade". Arrive at Cascade du Heuchau. The waterfall is on your left and continues its descent under the bridge. Take the time to take a break before finishing the walk. To finish the walk, continue on the right road and go straight for 30 meters. Take the right road following the direction "Chemin de la Cascade" then the path on the left "return to La Familiale". Caution, small stone bridge, slippery passage. Go down the path. Upon reaching the D486, cross at the pedestrian crossing then turn left after the stone cross on "rue des Chèvres". Go straight to finish the walk.
