Cycling loop B2 - the Harol slope

This loop winds through the hills located between the Madon and the Moselle to the west of Epinal. Starting from the Natur’O base at Lake Bouzey, you tackle five hills. To warm up, follow the Vosges canal along the D460 towards Chaumousey, then Girancourt. There, you take the D39, a hilly road that leads you to the gates of Dompaire, passing under Virine via the Circourt slope and the Derbamont slope (>7%). You will appreciate the long sheltered stretches under the oaks and beeches. Pay attention to the signage from the entrance of Lamerey to the exit of Madonne (D166 interchange). You arrive at the foot of the third hill above Vautrincourt. This section of road, open to all winds, leads you to the famous Harol slope (passage at 17%), known to cyclists from the Grand-Est. At the top, you will enjoy a 360° panoramic view. To finish this circuit, you return to the Vosges canal at the Forges d’Uzemain via Charmois l’Orgueilleux and then find your way back to Lake Bouzey via a small winding road, having previously crossed “the Salad slope,” the highest point of the route. And that makes five!
