On the foothills of the first plateau of the Jura, discover Montaigu and its steep view over Lons-le-Saunier. The village saw the growth of Rouget de Lisle, composer of "La Marseillaise", and was also the residence of Captain Lacuzon, hero of Comtoise independence (17th century). Perched at the tip of a rocky outcrop, Montaigu separates and overlooks two recesses (Revigny and Vernantois) whose marly slopes, at the foot of the limestone cliffs, are very favorable to grape cultivation. These were once entirely occupied by the Lédonien vineyard, decimated by phylloxera and then by the labor shortage caused by the First World War.
