From the fort he designed in 1679 to defend the kingdom's borders, to the transformation of Huningue after the dismantling of its fortifications in 1815, this approximately 2.5-hour journey offers a lively immersion through the centuries, between military strategy and urban evolution.
But Vauban is not just the brilliant engineer that history remembers. Behind the builder reveals a curious man sensitive to nature: as a child, he dreamed of becoming a gardener. Throughout this walk, it is also this lesser-known side that unfolds, between botany, the art of flowering, and a surprisingly modern perspective on ecology.
