Tourmalet-Hourquette d'Ancizan-Tourmalet

Mountain stage that goes over the legendary Tourmalet twice and in between takes a detour to Hourquette d'Ancizan.
The Tourmalet, at 2115m, is the highest pass in the Pyrenees. Along with the Aubisque and the Galibier, it is one of the three in the Tour de France. From Luz-Saint-Sauveur, the Tourmalet is a very consistent climb of almost 8%. The climb begins immediately after leaving Luz-Saint-Sauveur. In the forest, the gradient hovers around 8%. After 4 kilometers, there is a small section where you can catch your breath, but until Barèges, it steadily goes up again with even a small stretch reaching 12% just before Barèges. After Barèges, you leave the forest and enter the meadows. You get one last easier stretch for your wheels, but then it goes back up towards 9%. The best, however, is saved for the final kilometer with an average of 10.5% and sections up to 13%. This pass treats you to beautiful alpine meadows, herds of sheep, and fantastic views from the winding road. But the question is whether you can truly enjoy those long stretches of around 9 and 10 percent?
