La Marmotte: Bourg d'Oisans - Alpe d'Huez

La Marmotte Information

La Marmotte takes place on Saturday, July 3, 2010 - 174 km with about 5000 meters of elevation difference - Start time 07:00 AM
The route: Bourg d'Oisans-Col du Glandon-St Jean de Maurienne-Col du Télégraphe-Col du Galibier-Col du Lautaret-Alpe d'Huez.
Once again, the route (like in 2008, 2007, and 2006) will go over the Glandon.
Anyone who withdraws at the last refreshment station at the foot of Alpe d’Huez will receive the diploma "Marmotton",
as proof of completing 161 km through the high Alps.

The organization uses timing chips. Participants pay a deposit for it upon registration, which they will receive back in cash
when crossing the finish line.
The chip is incorporated into a wristband. At the starting line, each participant must cross over a special mat, and there are two
comparable checkpoints along the way.
Anyone who does not reach the summit of Alpe d'Huez can return their chip at the finish of the Marmotton. The entry fee for the Marmotte is €45.
There are two options for the timing chip:
- a normal chip; pay a €10 deposit and return it after the ride
- a Marmotte chip for €10, which you can keep as a souvenir, but also use for other cyclosportives that work with Winning Time.

Since 2006, a medical certificate or license (KNWU/VWB) is absolutely required for participation in all French cyclosportives,
including 3 Ballons, Marmotte, Ventoux-Beaumes-de-Venise, and Vaujany.
