Description by the author

This loop ride takes us to Lake Lispach. Lake Lispach is a peat lake, with an area of 10 ha and located at an altitude of 900m. There is a beautifully landscaped road for walking around (option). Didactic panels on the formation and life of the moors. Presence of sundew (protected insectivorous plant) on the moorland.

We leave from Lake Longemer, opposite the campsite "Les Jonquilles".

Take the forest trail "Basse de la mine" (green cross) which begins on the right side of the campsite.

Along the way, you will see a giant pine. After that, the path becomes rocky and steep. After the climb, you will arrive at a clearing where hiking trails intersect. This place is called "Le Collet de la mine". On the right side of this clearing, up to 20 lemon butterflies flutter among the fireweed. If you look through the trees right in front of you, you can already see Lake Lispach. So take the path straight to the lake. The path marking turns into a red dot. The lakeside is a wonderful place to relax, picnic or take the most beautiful idyllic photos. If you wish, you can go around the lake.
Then return to the "Collet de la mine". Follow the gravel road upwards which is indicated by a red ball. Up to the Col de Fachepremont. Keep left (red triangles) to the top, the Roche des vieux cheveaux. The view of Lake Longemer is breathtaking.
Now back to where we started. Be careful, the last part is particularly steep. Keeping the children by the hand, sometimes step by step. Sturdy shoes are definitely not an unnecessary luxury on this walk. I did this walk in August 2015, good weather (nice refreshment in the forest) with my husband and my daughter who was almost six years old. And we succeeded. But I will say it again. Pay attention to the end that you don't slip!
