04 - Corbières - RandoCool - The Wolf's Hole

The small group starts from the parking lot, near the boulodrome of Corbières, to begin this hike with normally mild weather. The first climb, towards the Saint Brice chapel, is quickly overcome as it is the start and we are still feeling fit. The trail that follows allows us to reach the "Trou du Loup" path. We continue our walk quietly through the hills of Corbières and soon arrive at Cairn Sud 04 and the work "And the hill will turn green again" by Jacques LE TEXIER. We resume the hike along the path, then a trail, then... in boar mode, but nothing too terrible, to reach another path, lower down. We pass above a place where we could swim in summer, with its bathtubs carved by water in the rocks... but the rain that was not supposed to fall starts again, and stronger than during the meal break. We now walk faster to reach the dam of the Trou du Loup and seek shelter from the rain near the Tourdeau fountain. Barely a few minutes after our arrival, the rain fades away to make room for a ray of sunshine. We then continue walking along the trail by the gorges. 1.7 km after the dam, we remember to turn off the path and head towards the vineyard field, which we go around to take a path that, after 2 fords, brings us back to Corbières, which we cross to reach our cars.
