Starting from Pont-en-Royans, a picturesque village with hanging houses, this route first winds through the Isère valley amidst tobacco fields and walnut groves, then climbs in twists and turns up the slopes of the Vercors to the hamlet of la Faz. Then comes the descent to Choranche and the gorges of the Bourne via the spectacular Presles road carved into the limestone cliffs.
