Wavy route along the castles of Chenonceau, Amboise, and Chaumont-sur-Loire.
We park the car for free at the Castle of Chenonceau and first visit the castle built over the Cher.
Afterwards, we drive mainly along very quiet roads to Amboise. For a while, we drive straight through the forest on a gravel road that is only accessible to cyclists and pedestrians. After that, it goes straight down to Amboise where we can visit both the royal castle and Le Clos Lucé of Leonardo Da Vinci. Then it's a bit of climbing up to the plateau and continues on to Chaumont. On the way back, we again take mainly quiet roads to Chenonceau.
Anyone wishing to avoid a castle overload can shorten the route past Amboise at several points, for example at Artigny to drive back via the quiet D80.
