Orléans is a contemporary university city, today best known for the French heroine Jeanne d'Arc who liberated the city in 1429 in the Hundred Years War. The town's nickname is the Ville d'Art et d'Histoire. This city walk starts at Orléans trainstation and takes you along historic buildings and modern art centers. Highlights are the cathedral of Orléans, the Loire and the house of Jeanne d'Arc.
