Grasse is a southern French city about 40 kilometers west of Nice. The city owes its fame mostly to the fact that for centuries it has been an important center for perfume production. The inhabitants of the city are fully aware of this and try to live up to that reputation by keeping many small shops open where the scented goods can be purchased. The walk will of course take you past these establishments and on top of that a whole host of other sights such as the Notre-Dame-du-Puy de Grasse cathedral, the Place aux Aires, the Fragonard perfumery, ... and a whole host of other gems.
