The valley of the Somme is a unique area in Western Europe since it is not a river like we are used to. This river is actually a collection of streams that criss-cross each other from the source to the mouth. the cycle route takes you through the countryside around the valley before returning via the Somme from Saint-Valery-sur-Somme to the starting point of Abbeville.
