The Cathars or Bonhommes rejected materialism and feudalism (borrowing system) in the Middle Ages. Because of this critical attitude, controversy arose with the Catholic Church, resulting in the Crusades and the Inquisition. The tourist route follows the migratory routes that the Cathars used when fleeing. The 'Camí dels Bons Homes' crosses the Pyrenees and connects the sanctuary of Queralt in the city of Berga to the castle of Montségur in Ariège in France.
