Want to see New York from London through a secret tunnel that runs under the Atlantic Ocean? That's what the Telectroscope can offer you.
Artist Paul St. George bases his creation on the (fictional) story of his grandfather Alexander Stanhope St George. When he went to see the Brooklyn Bridge in New York in the 19th century, he faced a considerable rough sea on the way back. This made him think of a way to show people in London New York, without them having to make this uncomfortable trip. And he conceived a transatlantic tunnel with optical devices at the end.


Of course, this is fiction, but artist Paul St. George built this artwork that creates this illusion. He constructed it with a video link to see New York from London and vice versa.
