Charles Darwin was send to Christ''s College from Edinbrough, because his father was not pleased that he neglected his medical studies and focussed to much on plants.
It was here in Cambridge that Darwin read Paley''s Natural Theology which made an argument for divine design in nature, explaining adaptation as God acting through laws of nature. He aslo read Alexander von Humboldt’s Personal Narrative of scientific travels, a trigger for his travels.
