Berwick-upon-Tweed was in the Middle Ages the capital of wool. Many Flemish people settled here who shipped wool to Flanders. You can still find many residents with the name 'Fleming'. This port city was formerly Scottish. It is now located 3km from the border of Scotland on English territory.
