In 1976, photos were taken of Battersea Power Station for the cover of the Pink Floyd album Animals. The pictures were taken with a twelve-meter balloon in the shape of a pig hovering between the chimneys of the plant. The pig broke loose, hovered through the London Heathrow Airport approach path and reached an altitude of 18,000 feet (5.5 km) before it came back to earth. As a result, both Pink Floyd and the central received much publicity.
