In the north of Greenwich, you can see the gigantic dome of the Millennium Dome from everywhere. It is also directly on the prime meridian. The enormous complex was finished just in time for the millennium celebrations, but the Londoners and tourists didn't really like the giant tent, and visitor numbers remained well below expectations. Time and again, the government had to step in with many millions to save the prestigious project from bankruptcy. In the meantime, the government has managed to sell the Millennium Dome at great losses.
