A walk through the charming center of King's Lynn is first and foremost a journey through an old Hanseatic city, where maritime history is literally embedded in the cobblestones. As you stroll along the quays and among the warehouses, you notice how strongly the city was once connected to the Hanseatic trade networks: brick storage facilities, elegant merchant houses, and old guildhalls tell the story of a place where ships from the Low Countries and Northern Germany docked, unloaded goods, and departed.
