Cycling London: Kew Gardens, Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common

This 35 km cycle route runs first along the beautiful banks of the Thames west of Central London, and then through four of the largest parks in the metropolitan area: Kew Gardens, Richmond Park, Wimbledon Common and the smaller green strip around the river Wandle (a tributary of Thames). The majority of the route is car-free. Richmond park is nearly a thousand hectares and the largest enclosed urban park in Europe. It is known for its herds of deer that live free.

Deze 35 km lange fietsroute voert eerst langs de prachtige oevers van de Thames ten westen van Central London, en vervolgens door vier van de grootste parken van de agglomeratie: Kew Gardens, Richmond Park, Wimbledon Common en de kleinere groenstrook rond de Wandle (een zijriviertje van de Thames). Het overgrote deel van de route is autovrij. Richmond park is bijna duizend hectare groot en het grootste ommuurde stadspark van Europa . Het is bekend voor de kuddes herten die er vrij leven.

Vertrek en eindpunt bij Putney Bridge station (fiets kan mee op de metro), waar ook je een Santander huurfiets kan huren. Kan ook bij de stations van Richmond en Wimbledon.
