The Hadrian Wall or Emperor Adrian Wall is a historic and well-marked walking route on the border of England and Scotland. Most walkers walk from east to west, however it is wise to walk from west to east. The reasons for this include the wind direction, but more important is the rainfall. When it rains you usually have it in the back and you have more view than staring at the ground. Furthermore, you will meet most hikers instead of approaching them from behind.
The walking route passes through beautiful landscape and very quiet area. The Wall is not accessible in some places, but the walking path then runs along it. Many sights can be visited along the way. A nice route for a multi-day hike and recommended.
