The reason why nature shaped this bay like the belly of an ox (that's what Voidokilia means) has its origin in Mount Kyllini. God Hermes was born in a cave on Mount Kyllini. After he was born he left the cave and stole the herd of oxen of his half-brother Apollo. Apollo asked his father Zeus for help 'cause he couldn't find his her. Zeus told his son Hermes to give back the herd to Apollo. Apollo was now more careful garding this herd. He was hiding them in the cave of Nestor, next to this beautiful bay of Voidokilia. And nature got inspired by the belly of the bulls, so created the bay accordingly: Voidokilia.
