Near the Taxiarchis monastery, on the outside of the bend in the road you see a source. The source is located near the lithological contact between the underlying greenschist rock (keeping up the water) and the overlying porous limestone and marble complex. The location of the monastery is probably no coincidence either and linked to this source. Sources are usually associated with ancient sacred sites.
