Moria was the legendary place invented by J.R.R. Tolkien, and located in Middle-earth. It was an enormous underground complex with mines, underground chambers and galleries. If I would have to pinpoint Moria on the real earth, the Ancient Quarry Area of Laurium would be a good option, since it has also a large number of quarries and underground galleries.
