Dún Eoghanachta [duːn oːnəxtə] is a stone fortress on the Aran island of Inishmore in County Galway, Ireland. The relatively complete round fortification was partially restored at the end of the 19th century. It is particularly valuable archaeologically for the remains of the beehive huts. The remains of three clocháns lie within the dún, which takes its name from the Eoghanacht clan from Munster, which was linked to the island in the Middle Ages.
The dún has a diameter of about 27 m and walls up to 4.8 m high, which are over 3.6 m thick. The walls have several stairs on the inside. During the excavations in 1995, the remains of hearths, animal and shell remains and some iron objects were found. The exact date of construction is unknown, but the Dun probably dates back to the Iron Age. It has also been dated to the 5th century and is one of seven stone forts in the Aran Islands.
