Dating back to the 1820s when the path was constructed for harbour workers, the walk here offers a choice between short (to Portally) or longer (to Ballymacaw/Rathmoylan) out-and-back variants. You’ll pass several lovely coves and sea-inlets. There’s a sea cave at Rathmoylan and a standing stone to check out too. The walk’s south facing meaning the light’s best early or late over winter. Park south of the harbour near Flat Rocks. dunmorewalks.ie
Afters: Power’s Bar is near to the harbour, or if you like Mediterranean cuisine, try Azzurro’s (azzurro.ie, closed Tues/Wed) where lights are dimmed in the evenings and candles lit. There’s a great choice of pizzas in their extensive menu which also includes pasta, risotto and seafood fishes.
