Locals sometimes point to places of local and historical interest, especially the castle ruins of the pirate queen Grainne Mhaol. Easy parking within walking distance and local pub convenient for well deserved refreshments.

A must for every Achil fan or for anyone who loves spectacular sea views. The nature of the walk means you can see views from different sides of the island. Historical aspects If you are visiting Achill Island, don't miss walking along this trail!! We crossed the island under the guidance of the locals to Killeennabausty to a clif and then followed the original route THAT CROSSING IS NOT POSSIBLE WITHOUT GUIDANCE If you want to see the clif, it is from the parking lot to follow the road for another 6.5 km by car
