The Casaforte di Povil, also known as Tour Povil or Castello la Tour Povil, is a medieval fortified complex on a hill in the village of Povil in the municipality of Quart in the Aosta Valley.
Less known than the dramatic Quart Castle in the same municipality, the Casaforte di Povil is located at about 693 meters above sea level on the road from Villair to the neighborhood of Cleyves. According to a suggestive theory, the fortified house was one Roman mile from the presumed milestone of Saint-Eusèbe in the neighborhood of Villair along the old Via delle Gallie and five miles from Augusta Praetoria: the ascent of the old road opposite the district of Villefranche is explained by the avoidance of the floodplains of the Dora Baltea at the bottleneck of the main valley.
