The Palazzo Altemps, formerly Palazzo Riario, is a historic building located in the piazza sant'Apollinare in the Ponte district of Rome. It currently houses one of the four branches of the National Roman Museum.
The building is situated occupying part of the ancient Campus Martius, an area of ancient Rome that was developed during the time of Emperor Augustus. It was located just 160 meters from the Ponte Elio, next to one of the two marble ports along the Tiber that were in the city. The other part of the palace overlooks another district, Testaccio.
