The Bargello is now a museum, but before this was the city prison. It was here that Leonardo Da Vinci made the drawing of the hanged man, which was hanging out of one of the windows. It was Bernardo di Bandino. He was one of the executors of the Pazzi Conspiracy on 26 April 1478, when they attempted a coup d'état against the rule of the Medici. It started by the killing of Giuliano de' Medici in the Duomo of Florence during the mass. His brother Lorenzo maneged to escape, having a neckwound.
