The Tolmezzo station was a railway station located on the Carnia-Tolmezzo-Villa Santina railway and the terminus of the narrow-gauge line Tolmezzo-Paluzza-Moscardo.
The station was opened in 1910 as part of the railway from Carnia to Villa Santina. A Decauville military railway with a gauge of 750mm was added towards Moscardo. In the second half of the twentieth century, after a decline in passenger traffic, there was an attempt to reopen to traffic with the construction of a freight branch towards the two locations in the industrial area and the paper mills.
