The museum of sacred art is located in the premises of the rectory of the collegiate church of Santa Maria Assunta and was inaugurated in 1996, being the first among the sacred art museums in the Siena area.
On the first floor, works are preserved that testify to the ancient historical heritage of the territory of Casole d'Elsa. Among these stands out the Madonna and Child, dating back to the second decade of the 14th century. There is also a Maestà by the painter of Ducceschi school known as the Master of Monterotondo, active around the mid-14th century, and a gradual and Kyriale dated 1344 from the collegiate church of Casole, characterized by numerous figurative initials painted by Lippo Vanni.
