The Church of the Rosary, located in the Vicoli Saraceni in the north of the city, was founded by a Jesuit and built between 1554 and 1664 .
In the early 16th century the Jesuits arrived in Sambuca. To eradicate superstition about the presence of ghosts, they collected alms and built a chapel . On the wall they painted the image of the Madonna della Scala or delle Scalille , which became a miracle. The faithful, inflamed with great fervor because of the many miracles obtained, collected many alms with which a church dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary was built on the site of the chapel.
The bell tower was built between 1950 and 1955.
The beautifully decorated wooden door from the early 19th century, dedicated to Saint Dominic of Cusman, the inventor of the 'rosary', is admirable. The Dominican coat of arms - a dog carrying a flaming torch between its teeth - can be found in the brown pebbles in the center of the church's white cobblestones.
The church is full of paintings from the seventeenth century Sicilian schools.
