On the piazza of Ponte a Cappiano stands the house where Andrea Tafi grew up after his birth in Fucecchio on May 7, 1966. The piazza was redesigned in 2010 and may soon bear the name Piazza Roubaix, referring to the beautiful victory of its famous champion in 1999. Here you can also find a few nice little bars for a snack. You might spend time there among discussing (older) Italians keeping each other company.

This relatively easy and short tour is ideal as a warm-up for the heavier works in the region. It already gives you a taste of the gentle Tuscan landscapes with vineyards, along the Strade dei Vini Chianti. And... you pass the residence, the birthplace, and the vacation home of the Italian Flandrian Andrea Tafi!

If you want to make this tour a bit longer and more challenging, go straight from Cerreto Guidi into the town of Vinci instead of turning left, and take the panoramic ascent to San Baronto.
