Clervaux lives with the constraints of an embedded site that gradually adapts. The houses first develop around the historical core on the bulging bank of the meander, before following the route of the valley. Close to the station is the chapel of Loretto, in Rococo style, built in 1762. Chapels of this type were erected during the time of the Counter-Reformation and are usually found on the heights outside the city. They adhere to a very specific architectural rule, namely the respect for the dimensions of the Casa Santa (House of the Virgin), of the spirit of its decor and its interior design. The Santa Casa is the house of the Virgin, transported in 1294 according to legend, from the Holy Land to Loreto in Italy. - Circuits du monde
