Kibbelkoele

In the Sleenerzand nature reserve lies Kibbelkoele, a swimming pond that was created through sand extraction.

It is located along the road from Schoonoord to Sleen and has a spacious sandy beach, picnic areas, toilets (one of which is for disabled persons), and a kiosk. The water quality is excellent.

The play ponds of Staatsbosbeheer are hidden in the greenery, in the middle of nature reserves. Some ponds formed naturally, while others were created by digging up sand. As a result, the depth varies by pond. In any case, it is all pure nature, and water quality is good.

You can enter the play pond without any problem. You don't have to worry about quickly going under. The bottom slopes gently. In the summer, it can be very busy, as everyone seeks the water. Fortunately, there is still plenty of peace and nature to be found in the area around the pond.
