The mill was built in 1750. Between 1900 and 1996, the mill was owned by the Hooyer family. In the latter year, the mill was moved a short distance and restored by the Stichting OpNieuw Leven.
Due to the sagging of the structure, the mill increasingly became more difficult to turn. Therefore, a bream was placed under the stone beam and slacks were placed under the long burr beams. On top of the standard, around the storm pole, lies a bronze plate. The mill can now even be set to the wind by pushing against the tail instead of using the wheel.
