After the church's ship was demolished in the sixteenth century, the dilapidated choir section collapsed in December 1660 after a severe storm. In the years 1662/1663, a new church building rose. After renovations and repairs over more than two centuries, the church building was demolished in 1904. On the same site, the current church was built in 1905.
