The Vaalserberg (“Mount Vaals”) is a hill 322.7 metres (1,059 ft) in height and the highest point in the European part of the Netherlands. The Vaalserberg is located in the province of Limburg, at the south-easternmost edge of the country in the municipality of Vaals, near the eponymous town, some three kilometres west of Aachen.

De hoogste plek van Nederland zou op een andere plek op de Vaalserberg in Zuid-Limburg liggen dan nu wordt aangegeven. Volgens Staatsbosbeheer blijkt die hoogste plek zestig meter verder naar het zuiden te liggen. De Vaalserberg heeft een hoogte van 322,7 meter boven NAP. Staatsbosbeheer en Bureau MTD Landschapsarchitecten ontdekten de fout toen de plek van de paal op de hoogste plek werd vergeleken met de nieuwste digitale hoogtekaarten van Nederland.
