The French Camp is a nature reserve and camping site in the Dutch province of North Holland, located in the forests southwest of Bussum, near the French Camp road.
Until 2015, it was assumed that the area got its name from the French siege of Naarden in 1672. However, there was no demonstrable evidence that French troops were stationed at that place. Another possible assumption was the meaning of the word 'camp' as clearance in forest or heathland. After 2012, there were indications that the camp near Naarden and the French Camp near Bussum are the same.
