The mill was originally built as a scaffolding mill in 1842 and was equipped as an oil mill. In 1882 the mill was raised by one metre and fitted out as a flour mill. Three years later, the mill was further rebuilt and turned into a belt mill. The mill was thoroughly restored in 1985 and 1986. Now the private mill is no longer in professional operation, but the owner/miller kept the mill running very regularly, until in the summer of 2017 it was determined that the mill is not in turn for the time being, because the sails and tail need urgent maintenance.
