The Bakery and Ice Cream Museum is a collection of Gerrit Valk, who died in 1985, and was turned into a museum by a foundation founded in 1986.
In the museum you will find on almost 1000 m2 an impressive collection of tools, objects and machines from former bakeries and from the beginning of ice cream making.
The interior is full of attributes from times of yesteryear, such as a belt-driven dough kneader, klutsmachine, almond peeling and almond rubbing machine. In the original oil-fired oven, our bakers regularly bake currants, apple pies or other delicacies.
The first ice machines
The first Rollo ice cream maker was imported from Sweden in 1958 and could produce 4000 ice creams per hour on a stick. Furthermore, in this part of the museum there are interesting devices, which used to be used in the industrial production of ice cream.
