The name of this farm from 1960 refers to low-lying land that was created by 'tichelen', the digging of clay for brick making. As you continue along the road, you will see the expansive landscape and various higher-lying farms. These date back to the time when Kampereiland was regularly flooded by the Zuiderzee. Along the way, you will also see and hear numerous species of (water)birds.
