The name of Blekerijweg refers to the bleaching houses (laundries) that were established here. The house with number 8 is a gardener's residence, built in 1990, behind which is 'De Koepel', a reminder of these laundries/bleaching houses. De Koepel is a former watchtower to oversee the bleaching fields with laundry. Vegetables are now grown on the land.
