Mill

Windmill De Lelie on the Geerkade in Etten-Leur-Noord was probably built in the first decade of the nineteenth century. It is not possible to determine with certainty from the archival sources when the mill was completed and put into operation. In any case, the patent register of 1815 shows that in that year Jacobus Schrickx worked as a miller in the grain and bark mill at the Leurse Haven. In 1937 the mill was destroyed by fire and not much remained but the round brick mill hull up to the grain attic. In 1988 the Stichting Molen De Lelie started rebuilding the mill. In September 1998, mill De Lelie was officially put back into use.
