Kranenburg is a general cemetery and crematorium in Zwolle. Kranenburg was put into use in 1933, because there was a lack of space on the General Cemetery Meppelerstraatweg. The Kranenburg cemetery is directly adjacent to the Bergklooster cemetery from 1399.The estate came into the hands of the Vos de Wael family in the early 1800s. They used it mainly for hunting. The entrance to the estate, the so-called Prinsenpoort, is included in the current cemetery. However, this is no longer on its original site, due to the construction of the A28.
